IRISH SESSION
The Irish Session is held on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Musicians gather in the back room of the Abita Brew Pub located at 72011 Holly Street in Abita Springs, Louisiana to play and sing favorites from the Celtic repertoire while enjoying good company, food, and drinks. ​Be sure to visit the Session Celtic Music resource page here.
SLOW/FAST SESSION
Northshore Strings’ Slow/Fast Session provides an excellent educational opportunity for those who are interested in playing fiddle tunes, especially Celtic fiddle tunes. In the first half of the session, tunes are played at slower tempos and veteran string educators are on hand to offer insight and encouragement to student musicians. In the second half of the session, tempos increase to their normal performance speed. This Session is held on the final Sunday of each month from 12:00-2:00 pm at St. John’s Coffeehouse located at 535 E Boston Street in downtown Covington, Louisiana.
